SNCF testifies
Video has enabled the SNCF group to communicate effectively on its information system, and to support its digital transformation.
Use cases:
internal communications (interviews, tutorials, event announcement videos), marketing (event summaries)
Watch the video testimonial by Marion Deshays, Communications and Customer Relations Manager, and Anaëlle Faleyras, Digital Webmarketing Assistant :
On a besoin de rester innovants pour donner envie à nos collaborateurs de pousser nos produits.
The Communications and Marketing teams needed to create more modern and dynamic content
The Communications team needed to assess satisfaction among employees and clients regarding SNCF's information system (trains, train/network communications, management of the rail network and stations). They needed to communicate about this information system, to keep users informed, with content that was dynamic, impactful, and memorable.
On the Marketing side, events were organised to present new tools and new working methods within the group (in the context of digital transformation). Team members wanted to communicate effectively about these events, and collect KPIs (numbers of participants, feedback, etc.).
A solution was needed to move away from PowerPoint documents. To create livelier content, video seemed to be the answer. The teams had previously created videos, but few, due to budget constraints and always relying on external providers. These videos were limited to a few major events throughout the year (New Year's greetings, customer events...); for the rest, the group had not yet managed to deploy this medium on a regular basis.
The Innovation department then suggested to the Communications and Marketing teams to use Pitchy to create their videos. It's SaaS software quickly accessible to everyone, allowing to create unlimited videos (unlike agencies that produce only one video at a time). This means time-saving and economies of scale.
The teams received on-site training at SNCF Réseau's premises. A 2-3 hour Pitchy training session with a dedicated video expert. And after the training, the employees were ready to create their first videos.
By bringing video creation in-house, they have been able to create content on a wide range of subjects
For the Marketing team, many infographics in video format, and numerical summaries (100% motion design) were created to report on the results of events organised by the Group.
The Communications team produced videos relating to QWL (Quality of Life at Work: a guide to good practices at work and the proper posture at the office for well-being), employee interviews, launch videos for new IS technical tools, and videos for managing absences and remote work with employees.
Other projects are in the pipeline: a promotional video for an HR survey, and a survey on understanding the SNCF information system. Subsequently, video infographics will be created to communicate the results of these surveys.
Pitchy: a simple, turnkey tool with dedicated video expert support
Members of both teams quickly became autonomous on Pitchy right after the training.
"The feedback from team members has been very positive: people who never made videos now create them very easily."
SNCF employees appreciated being supported by someone from Pitchy, who helped enhance their video projects while providing new and inspiring ideas.
"We have discussions every quarter, and we take stock of things. We can talk about all our needs, and it's really important to be able to say that."
